Artist Bio:

Ignacio Diaz



Born in Havana, Cuba, Ignacio is a leading Cuban-American artist of the generation that emerged in the wake of Cuban exiles seeking freedom in a new world ninety miles from his homeland. With his natural artistic talent and extensive experience in the graphic arts, Ignacio established his studio in the 1990s. There, he absorbed the acute attention to form associated with paintings and sculptures. As a result, Ignacio refined his own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through his focus on the points of intersection between color, sculpture, and three dimensional space.



Ignacio is proud to introduce his new "I. Diaz Creations - 3D Marine Life Art" collection. These painted and sculptured works of art capture the natural feel of the marine life world. The glass like formulation technique that has been developed by Ignacio is laid out in a layered three dimensional perspective of the underwater action. Ignacio's imagination and attention to detail will amaze you.

Artist Ignacio Diaz,  by the 80's and growing up as American US Citizen I, Ignacio established a screen printing business by 87' creating something that serviced the locals Miami, Florida with t-shirts advertising needs. My artistic talents are why I was able to create with a competitive edge. I created a new line of women’s Spring/ summer line, with designs that took off as hand painted garments. It was the garment thing in the early 90’s. locally I sold to 3 boutique Stores in the Miami International Airport, owned by the Greyhound Corporation. At this time my work was noticed by a sales group from Big Pine Key, Florida, whom I teamed up with and the line took off. From there the birth of my new screen printing from manual printing, to reinvestment in my company. New printing jobs led to the contracting of the automatic Printing Machines, which was the help needed for a fast turn around time and delivery.
1992 - 1993 By this time with art, design work, and the screen printing knowledge, The field was open for the play of creation and Submitting work to the theme parks were now play and fun into a lucrative business.

That lead me right for the Orlando theme parks. Where my first break, came in way of creating a t-shirt design for Tampa Busch Gardens @buschgardens

( KUMBA ) the roller coaster and I was awarded the T-SHIRTS Print Design retail campaign. I was able to expand my horizons. From this I created for @seaworldorlando @waltdisneyworld .

I was now able to focus on becoming a Painter of collectible art and IDiazCreations became my development critical platform and my concept from the acute attention to form the associated with paintings and sculptures. As a result, I refined my own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through my focus on the points of intersection between color, sculpture, and three dimensional space. My creative abilities also kept me engaged in my local community. So also added into my resume, Politics !  This is when I was elected as Vice President to the board of Directors of my Homeowners Association. During this time of accountability, we were able to cut back spending by adjusting new contract negotiations, as well as readjusting the budget with savings in order to build on a reserve for shareholders of our community. 

I believe. you run it like a business with conservative values and creative ideas and you will achieve a positive result ! This was notice in my City community and I was asked to run for Mayor of the City in the up coming election of 1998. The rest is history. A Republican Cuban born American Artist / Businessman, elected by a 92 percentile Democratic Jewish community, my loved community elected me over the Democrat opponent who was the leader of the Democrat Party at the time.

organization description ran a political campaign. Ready with The issues that were concerns to neighbors and voters in the city, with their support, as a new comer to local politics, I was able to defeat long time leader of the democratic party. I was now Mayor of the City of North Bay Village, Florida. The first Cuban Born Mayor American since the Incorporation of the City in 1945, when it separated it self from Miami Dade From 1999-2000, I was also involved in setting up with Miami- Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas, Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez, Miami Beach Mayor Neisen Kasdin, Surfside Mayor Paul Novack, and Homestead Mayor Shiver, the first Miami -Dade County’s Mayors’ Round Table.
The 32 municipal Mayors at that time, could sit and discuss their community needs and concerns. My business approach of working hard with what you have, and making things happen attitude, I was able to bring The City of North Bay Village from more than half a Million Dollar deficit. By working with the Commissioners, I budgeted 5 Million Dollars to fix the city infrastructure, when completed the County lifted the moratorium in place for over 17 years on our City. This created new opportunities for growth in our tax base with future developments. My goals balanced the City budget every year through my time as Mayor. I was also involved with Mayor Paul Novak (Surfside), in addressing the Dade County Schools decaying fire alarm Systems. Many other issues were addressed by Governor Jeb Bush, also a Federal Lawsuit which lead to the new construction of schools in Miami- Dade County. The special friends that supported My community concerns and state wide Former Mayor Pepe Diaz of City of Sweet Water Florida, Former Director of The Florida Water Management District Jose Fuentes, Congressman E. Clay Shaw, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Congressman Linclon Diaz Balart, Miami Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and Special Friend AC Weinstein. After my first media interview with him, he became a dear friend who always believed in me. The Sun Post, family; also Hector Paredes like a brother to me and his tireless support from him and his family!!  As well as friend and neighbor Kenny Stowe, who served on our city boards and help me bring a Christmas celebration and first Santa Claus to North Bay Village history! The 1st ever City of North Bay Village Police Athletic League (PAL) is a volunteer athletic program which provides the youth of NBV, Fl. the opportunity to participate in organized sports activities such as baseball, soccer and cheer leading. The organization is operated and administered by volunteers from the community. The PAL uses City parks, athletic fields and facilities for games, tournaments and practices. all of this was possible with the help of my friend and neighbor Kenny Stowe, who at the time was the acting President of the Miami Beach, Florida P.A.L. Program.

Today, at IDiazCreations 3d art studio I paint Marine Life, Modern Contemporary, Exotic Automobiles, and more, all works are one of a kind Originals. My work can be collected or from Commission works. As a result, I am the only one in the world creating 3D high detailed action, in 3D mixed media paintings. This has captured my interest while it created the challenge to paint the scenery, background, and the subject while maintaining the integrity of the foreground.
